Sadhotra condemns terror ambush in Poonch, salutes martyrs

National Conference Additional General Secretary and Former Minister Ajay Kumar Sadhotra today condemned the barbaric terror attack on the armed forces personnel inthe Poonch Sector, saying that time has come to send a terse message to the perpetrators ofviolence that such mechanism would not be tolerated anymore. Addressing workers at KANGARTOP BAGRI in Jammu North Assembly Constituency this afternoon, Sadhotra said, “Our heartsgo to the families, who have lost their dear ones in call of their duties.”Mr Sadhotra saluted the valour and heroism of the security forces and the police in fightingterrorism, saying they are offering supreme sacrifices for integrity and sovereignty of the country,besides saving the lives of the people.

He said terrorism has no place in a civilized world and suchtype of inhuman acts should only firm up the resolve of the people, irrespective of caste, creed andreligion to fight unitedly the scourge of terror, which has emerged as a big challenge to humanity.Referring to the local issues, Sadhotra expressed serious concern and said scarcely andunscheduled supply of drinking water, the people of Jammu North Assembly Constituency are facingacute drinking water crisis and the dilapidated condition of roads is causing innumerable problemsto the people and the Double Engine Sarkar of BJP is not taking any effective measures to redressthese issues. The administrative insensitivity and callous approach has pushed the residents to thewall, as nobody feels accountable. The inertia of the service providing departments has attainedalarming proportions, he added.

Ajay Sadhotra said the National Conference will continue to fight for larger interests of thepeople and ensure that their problems are resolved by the administration. The strength of the partyemanates from the people at ground zero and there is a need to channelize this support for thebetterment of the people, irrespective of caste, creed, region or religion. He said the NationalConference has all along cherished the great values of the pluralistic ethos that has actually been abinding force between the regions and religions.

This spirit has not only to be sustained butpromoted in a big way to keep at bay the divisive forces, he added.The NC Additional General Secretary exhorted the cadre to fan out in their areas and galvanize theparty at the grassroots level. The politically empowered people hold key to change and given theirsagacity and sense of understanding the day is not far when they will become the masters of theirown destiny again. He said the people were the real fountain of power and the power is not to rulebut to serve humanity.
